2026-03-12

The cult-classic brand shared glossy pictures of the stylish, all-black model, which is inspired by its most beloved and celebrated platforms.

The Harley-Davidson RMCR, or Revolution Max Café Racer, concept bike was officially revealed on Thursday at the 2026 Mama Tried motorcycle show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The brand also revealed the bike on its social media platforms and said “the feedback line is open” for fan reactions.

Harley-Davidson based the new bike on the Revolution Max platform and original XLCR café racer, but wanted to see just how far they could push the design, the brand said.

The “carbon fiber concept” is built around the 1250cc Revolution Max motor – a double overhead camshaft engine featuring liquid cooling that debuted on the Pan America bike in February 2021.

This powerful, high-performance engine is paired with a “custom 2-into-2 exhaust and a chassis shaped with performance in mind.”

Harley called it “a modern interpretation of a rebellious original,” adding it’s a tribute to Willie G. Davidson, who designed the XLCR by committee alongside Bob Modero and Jim Haubert.

While only built for two years from 1977 to 1979, the original XLCR is beloved among diehard Harley fans, and is still sold at auctions for a high value today.

Fan reaction to the concept has been incredibly positive, with many begging Harley to turn the concept bike into a real ride.

“Please build it! I would buy one so fast my wife wouldn’t have time to say no!” commented one Facebook user.

“This is the best looking Harley I’ve seen in years, make this a production model bike and maybe you could pull in that younger age demographic,” added a second.

While Harley may have found the solution to some of its biggest current issues with the concept bike, a major strategy shift all but confirms the RMCR won’t be rolling off factory floors anytime soon.
